Vitro Studies at National Institute of Virology

Chicago (Business Wire), November 29, 2006

Qualtran has initiated the process of conducting In Vitro Studies using the Hemopurifier Cartridge developed by Aethlon Medical in India. These studies will be conducted at National Institute of Virology, India. NIV is the premier institute for Viral Studies and is recognized all over the world for this expertise. The MOU to conduct these studies was signed on Nov 17’2006. The study will be conducted for the Dengue 2 Virus and would involve identifying the most suitable resin (GNA, Con A or CVN) for dengue virus retention by the Aethlon Hemopurifier. The study will also address the issues such as the proportion of virus retained in various lab models and also the number of cycles needed for complete removal of virus from the blood.

In addition to the two cytokines,l PN-gamma and TNF n alpha that have already been tested there might be additional studies carried out with few other cytokines i.e IL-8 and lL-lO that are important in dengue pathogenesis.
